HOW TO CREATE A PROFILE
Whether you want to tell your friends about your favourite charity projects, keep up-to-date with a project’s progress, donate your birthday (or any other occasion) or fundraise, creating a profile is the way to do it. Here’s how to get started – it takes just two minutes…
CREATING A PROFILE
From the home page click on ‘sign in or join’ or from any project page click ‘add to my profile’ (to the right of the video) and a pop up box will appear:
You can create your profile using your facebook log in (this will speed things up as all your details will automatically be imported). Alternatively enter your email, first name and surname in the boxes provided. Your profile page has now been created. If you’ve created your profile using facebook you’ll receive an email with a password – use this to log in the first time and then you can change it in the ‘change my settings’ tab.
PERSONALISING YOUR PROFILE
You can personalise your profile by clicking on ‘change my settings’ to:
- Add/change your profile picture
- Change the text on your page
- Change your password
- Add friends
- Add your birthday
- Add your Twitter feed
- Add details about yourself
- Upload a video
- Manage your favourite projects
ADDING YOUR FAVOURITE PROJECTS TO YOUR PROFILE
To add your favourite projects to your profile navigate around the site using the top menu bar/search box, find a project you like, open up the page and click ‘add to my profile’.
ADDING FRIENDS TO YOUR PROFILE
Go to the profile of your friend and click ‘add as a friend’:
Your friend will then appear on your profile page:
WHAT YOU CAN DO ON YOUR PROFILE...
Your profile acts as a record of what you like, what donations you’ve made, what differences you’ve achieved and what fundraising activities you’re up to.
The ‘News’ tab records all your donations:
The ‘I’m doing’ tab allows you to create a fundraising event in aid of a project on the site – maybe you’re having a cake sale for TroopAid, running 5k for MagicMe or just want your friends to donate to your favourite project rather than buy you a birthday present – all that can be set up here:
Once you’ve created your event it will be displayed under ‘I’m doing’ and you’ll be able to see who has donated to you:
The ‘I did’ tab shows the projects that you donated to which have received feedback – so you can see the difference you’ve made:
The ‘I like’ tab shows all the projects that you’ve added to your profile:
Then right at the bottom of your profile we’ll present you with other projects we think you might like:
