Connect kids with nature
CONNECT KIDS WITH NATUREHow do I do that? The Woodland Trust organise regular tree-planting sessions to give children the chance to get hands-on in the forest, learn about the nature around them and plant trees that will be there when they have their own children and grandchildren. So far a monumental two million kids have taken part in tree-planting days. And with forests and cities in desperate need of more greenery, the mini-helpers do a big job in improving our environment too. What does it cost?It costs £20 for a child to take part in a tree-planting day. When will I see the difference? When we've raised enough for 50 kids to take part in a tree-planting day (£1000). What will I see? We'll show you photos, pictures and poems from the next planting sessions.
Tell me more...Woods are under threat from climate change, modern development - and often, from sheer indifference. Research shows that contact with woods and nature makes us feel better about ourselves. Because of modern lifestyles, many children are growing up with little connection with their natural environment. We need to inspire our children to become future guardians of their natural environment. This campaign is an urgent call to action.
