GIVE PANTS TO A SOLDIER

How do I do that?

When a soldier is injured, it's more important to get them to safety than to gather their belongings, so it can take months for them to get their personal possessions back, leaving servicemen and women in hospital without the basic necessities. TROOP AID sends out 'Grab Bags' which contain the essential items needed to make their stay in hospital a bit more bearable.

What does it cost?

It costs £25 to provide a Grab Bag to an injured soldier - items include t-shirt and shorts, washing and shaving kit, towel, face flannel, tooth paste, tooth brush, shower mules, socks, underwear, pen and paper. Female requirements are also catered for.

When will I see the difference?

In the New Year we’ll tell you how many Grab Bags we delivered over the festive season.

What will I see?

Al Sutton, the head of TROOP AID, will report back on where the bags have gone - scroll down the page to 'success story' to see the difference already made.

Tell me more...

Troop Aid understands that everyone who joins the Armed Forces may one day have to go to war and fight for their country. We believe that when Troops return home they should be cared for. Our Grab Bags are currently being sent out to the UK Military Hospitals in Afghanistan, the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and other Ministry of Defence Hospital Units within the UK.

In addition to this emergency pack we also supply on demand to the injured service personnel many other items of clothing and footwear. We deal directly with the Defence Medical Welfare Service and other military medical establishments in the UK where there is a need. We have sponsored two rooms at Selly Oak Hospital for the families of Armed Forces Personnel who are in intensive care.
