Change another 100 lives through football!
CHANGE ANOTHER 100 LIVES USING FOOTBALLJOB DONE: SCROLL DOWN THE PAGE TO "SUCCESS STORIES" TO FIND OUT MORE How did you do that?Street League uses football to turn around 16-25 year old offenders, drug users and NEETs lives (that’s people not in education, employment or training). They engage young people in weekly footy matches and get together around 100 people for match days to build confidence, explore different paths out of their problems, offer support to get them into education and work. The power of footy, friendship and regular commitment makes a big difference. 72% of young people helped by Street League have the confidence to go back into employment or education. What did it cost? Each match day helps around 100 young people. It costs £500 to hold a Match Day which includes pitch hire, referees, trophies, refreshments and first aid staff. When will I see the difference? When we hold our next Match Day on 14th December at Kennington Park in London we'll feedback the highlights of the Match Day, showing you pictures from the tournament, telling you what the players thought of the day and introducing you to the winners. In the meantime scroll down the page to "success stories" to see a world champion football freestyler in action!
Tell me more...Through its structured football programmes, Street League builds the confidence, life skills and relevant qualifications necessary for moving young people into sustainable training, further education and employment. You helped to change 100 lives!
UPDATE: 12th July 2011 Dear Jules, Michael and Nigel Thanks to you - and the footballing skill of world record breaker John Farnworth - we have raised enough to hold another Match Day, providing opportunities for around 100 people to transform their lives. Check out the video above to see John in action demonstrating his amazing keepie-uppie skills! The Match Day you made happen is going to take place on 14th December, so we'll update you then on all the day's action. Thanks again David Haddow, Communications Manager - Street League |
