GIVE MAGIC BEANS AND WATCH A LIVELIHOOD GROW

How do I do that?

Zambia is the 11th poorest country in the world. 80% of the people there depend on farming but most people can’t grow enough to eat. Magic beans (otherwise known as good quality seeds) can change everything. With your help, that’s what we can provide to people in Zambia.

What does it cost?

It costs £10 for a farmer to be given magic beans (seeds) and training.

When will I see the difference?

In the New Year we’ll let you know how many farmers have been trained.

What will I see?

We'll send you photos from a family your donations helped.

Tell me more...

Zambia is one of Sub-Saharan Africa's most highly urbanized countries, with almost half of the country’s 11.5 million people living in urban areas.

Rural economic development has been slow however and challenges such as population growth, HIV/AIDS,and poor services make rural communities amongst the poorest in the country. The country’s public debt remains extremely high, although it has fallen from over 130% of GDP in 2004 to a level of just over 31%.

Zambia is a major exporter of copper, although most people rely on small-scale agriculture for their survival. Poor access to good quality seed is a major challenge for small-holder farmers.
