Multiple Sclerosis sexual health book for men
JOB DONE:SCROLL DOWN THE PAGE TO 'SUCCESS STORY' TO FIND OUT MORE...Make a difference for £4.00 - right nowBoners. Flagpoles. Little Soldiers. If you haven’t sniggered by now, you’re bigger and cleverer than us. Let’s face it, discussions about sex generally involve some peculiar slang and a pint or two. But for the hundreds of men dealing with MS, there can be problems that don’t quite fit into pub conversation. Things like lack of sensitivity, fatigue, or erection issues can make sex disappointing or difficult, and potentially damage relationships and confidence.
500 helping handsYou can help a man with MS to improve his sexual relationships. And you don’t even have to have an awkward chat. MS Trust are busy researching and writing their ‘Sex for Men’ book, filled with practical advice, expert insights and tips and tricks. They want to publish ‘Sex for Men’ in the summer of 2011 - can we raise enough for 500 books by then? £4 will pay for one copy to be written, published and given to a man with MS. It’s just over the cost of a beer, and guaranteed to be more helpful under the circumstances.
You'll See The Difference......when it pops up in your inbox (all puns intended). When we've raised enough for 500 books (£2,000), we’ll post the reviews and show you how it’s helping men with MS perform better in the bedroom (through interviews, rather than practical demonstration!).
Update: 23rd August 2011. Dear Philip, Dr Owens, S H Gardiner, Vicky, Thomas, Kate, Mike, Lisa, Josephine, Jo, Jas, Jill and Dom Thanks to support from you and some of our regular donors we’ve now managed to publish ‘Sex and MS: A Guide for men’ and to give you a sense of just how valuable it is, we asked Alan who has MS to give you his view: “The new book from the MS Trust - Sex and MS: a guide for men - is a great help. As well as simply bringing the subject to the fore and acknowledging the difficulties, it is packed with ideas for turning crisis into opportunity. There are many ways to be sensual and intimate, to give and receive pleasure, without the need for sexual gymnastics. If you are struggling, there is help out there - from GPs, specialist nurses, organisations like Relate or the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists. Talking - to your partner if you have one or to friends - can be the biggest step forward, but it's not always easy to know what to say. In my own journey with MS I've had to face a host of losses and changes, including the image of myself as a sexual man. Although the subject continues to be taboo for some I'm very grateful for all the help that is out there and would urge all men to use this book. It's a valuable resource.” The book helps by putting sexual problems in context, offering basic information about sexual functioning and passing on tips from men with MS on how to make sex an enjoyable experience." Alan is just one of the many men with MS that will benefit from this book, so on behalf of them all we’d like to thank you again for your support in helping to make this book happen.
