Scroll down to "success stories" to see the difference being made... BRING FUN AND GLAMOUR TO OLDER PEOPLE IN CARE HOMESHow do I do that?Bring glamour and fun to older people in care by helping Magic Me to host cocktail parties in care homes in East London. Working with a pool of volunteers we offer residents a reason to get dressed up and something to look forward to by providing an evening of drinks, friendly conversation and entertainment. What does it cost?To throw a cocktail party costs £100 which includes:
And the Mystery Millionaire will match every £1 raised! When will I see the difference?Scroll down to "success story" to see the difference made.
Tell me more...“I have really enjoyed the party! It gives us a chance to have a chat and meet new people. It’s a lease of life.” Cocktails in Care Homes run for 60-90 minutes, from 6pm, once a month, for residents of a home, any relatives or friends who wish to join in and care staff. Young adult volunteers, mostly in their 20s and 30s living or working locally, host the party joining residents to socialise over a drink. Mood lighting, decorations, music and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are provided to set a party mood and encourage conversation. Residents are asked about their favourite music and drinks so that we can ensure we cater for everyone. Cocktails in Care Homes gives residents a chance to make friends within their homes as well as allowing them to keep in touch with the wider community by bringing young locals in for a chat. A big thank you from Violet and her friends
