A shoulder to lean on
GIVE SOMEONE WITH CANCER AN HOUR WITH A NURSEHow do I do that? For many people affected by cancer, Macmillan nurses are a trusted source of expert information, advice and support - help us continue to provide this invaluable service by paying for someone with cancer to have an hour with one of our nurses. What does it cost?£25 will fund another hour of a Macmillan nurse. When will I see the difference? When we've raised enough for a Macmillan nurse for one week (£1,000). What will I see?One of the nurses will write and tell you what they did on an ‘ordinary day’ - scroll down the page to "success stories" to see the difference already made.
Tell me more...Macmillan nurses understand how frightening a cancer diagnosis can be. That’s why they are there from the moment of diagnosis and for as long as they are needed, providing vital medical care. But they’re more than just cancer experts. They’re a counsellor, a yellow pages, a shoulder to lean on, and a friend. Macmillan funds 891 nursing posts throughout the UK.
You helped pay for eight hours of Anna's timeDear Mike, Gillian, Jill, Tinka, Cynthia, Chris, Iain, Mark, Becs, Stuart, Dom and Patricia Thanks to you eight hours of Anna's time has been paid for. Anna is a Macmillan nurse based on a gynaecology oncology ward at St George's Hospital in Tooting and she supports cancer patients on their journey from the day they are diagnosed. In the short video above Anna tells you what her day involves and how you helped make a difference... ...and you can help us make even more of a difference by spreading the word, "liking" the project on facebook and telling your friends. Thanks again Anna
