Save the kids' soccer pitch!
JOB DONE: SCROLL DOWN TO "SUCCESS STORIES" TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE MADE The street kids of Mombasa, Kenya love to play football. They practice hard and play nicely (unlike some of the international players!). Trouble is, their pitch is so terrible, no one wants to play against them. You've done it!£2,000 has been raised to take this run-down, barren piece of land and turn it into a proper football pitch. Scroll down to "success stories" to see the difference made. The pitch is finished, the players are ready and, thanks to you, the project has been Differenced! We hope you enjoy the match highlights in the film above. It's been an amazing season for the Glad's House team - with lots of hard work and support they've transformed their field into a proper football pitch and all of this was made possible by your amazing contributions. Thank you and well done - and now - game on!
Update posted 31st August 2010 We’ve cleared the old pitch and we’ve dug drainage drainage ditches all round the pitch...
...to solve the problems of flash flooding.
We’ve been using the earth to patch the pitch...
...then got the grader in to flatten the pitch
Thanks to you, we're not far from finishing!Stay tuned for the first game.
