Calling all footy fans
GIVE A STREET KID A DAY OFF TO PLAY FOOTYHow do I do that? For street children in Kenya every aspect of daily life is a struggle - Glad's House want to give them the chance to be kids and enjoy a day of football whilst at the same time getting access to medical advice and a meal. What does it cost? Each place on a Footy Day costs just 85p. When will I see the difference? When we've raised enough for a month's worth of Footy Days (£1,428). What will I see? You’ll get pictures, results and league tables from the Coastal Kings.
Tell me more...The Coastal Kings featured in the video are made up of local kids from Mombasa, many of whom live on the streets. They got involved as part of Glad’s House Footy Days – where street children get a chance to eat, rest, get medical help, tuition or advice on family reconciliation, along with a heap of football practice. Peter Odemwingie and Victor Obinna are Premier League footballers that play for West Bromwich Albion and West Ham Utd respectively. They have supported this project by sharing it on their profiles.
