PROVIDE A HOME FOR ROMANIA'S ABANDONED CHILDREN

How do I do that?

St Nicholas' is a residential, family-style home for 16 abandoned and orphaned children aged 3-18 years in Suceava District. You could support one of our children for the day.

What does it cost?

It costs just £12 per day to look after, educate, feed, clothe and house one child.

When will I see the difference?

When we've raised enough for 100 days of care at St Nicholas' (100 x £12 = £1,200).

What will I see?

We’ll send photos and reports from some of the children your money is helping.

Tell me more...

In Romanian, “Fara” means without. With our help and support, our children never have to go without again...

FARA gives love and security at St Nicholas' to 16 abandoned children, rescued from the streets or state orphanages, many suffering from neglect or deprivation and most have psychological and behavioural problems linked to past emotional and physical abuse.

Our children are nurtured and every child is supported through education and given training opportunities.  FARA’s family styled homes are a model for childcare in Romania.

Lacrimiora, who is featured in the video, was rescued from an appalling state orphanage aged four, as her father was unknown and her mother placed in a psychiatric hospital. She had been kept in the dark which resulted in near blindness. FARA arranged an eye operation and as a result she was able to attend full time education together with extra schooling at St. Nicholas.  She now attends high school in Suceava which would never have been possible without FARA’s support.  She would have remained for life in an institution.
