Help the homeless in Newcastle rebuild their lives
JOB DONE: AWAITING FEEDBACKHELP THE HOMELESS IN NEWCASTLE REBUILD THEIR LIVESHow do I do that?Crisis Skylight, our award winning and accredited education, training and employment centres, offer practical and creative workshops together with formal learning opportunities that lead to qualifications and finding work. Help us keep our centre running in Newcastle. What does it cost?It costs £3,000 a week to run Skylight Newcastle. When will I see the difference?Crisis are now putting together the feedback to show you the difference your money has made so we'll be bringing you another 'success story' very soon!
Tell me more...With 60,000 households in England officially recognised as newly homeless last year, it's not a problem that's going away. Although it's highest in London and the West Midlands, homelessness is to be found throughout the country. In 2007 Crisis opened their first Skylight centre outside London. Your support of Skylight Newcastle provides classes that range from Car Maintenance, I.T. and English classes, to Meditation, Yoga and Creative Writing. Much needed support is also offered from the staff team, who provide advice and guidance and help members to achieve their chosen goals and move forward with their lives. Over 700 people attended the centre in 2009, of which 426 people took part in training and 26 gained employment as a result. Clearly every penny counts - so give the people in the community the tools to rebuild their lives. |
