Help us install a new water system
PROVIDE CLEAN WATER TO A REMOTE AFRICAN VILLAGEHow do I do that?Support Jonathon Green, Sarah Nodwell, Costa Evlogimenos, Dominic Harris and Sam Reed in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 9 October 2011 and you’ll enable us to send volunteers to help install a new water system in the remote village of Ekuthuleni in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa. You can leave a personal message for any of the runners in the “leave a comment” box on this page by creating a personal profile (click here for more details) and you can help spread the word in the ‘share’ section above. What does it cost?To install a new water system will require six volunteers to work alongside the locals and each volunteer place costs £300 so we’d like to raise £1800. The new system will provide for the c.100 villagers in the immediate locality and will also be utilised by over 300 people in the surrounding area. The first £1000 donated will be matched pound for pound by See The Difference’s Mystery Millionaire, so be quick to double your money. When will I see the difference? After the marathon on 9 October 2011 we’ll report back to you on how much we’ve raised. What will I see? We’ll send you pictures of Jonathon, Sarah, Costa, Dominic and Sam completing their half marathon challenge, update you on what we’ve raised and tell you who the volunteers you supported are.
Tell me more…clouddog takes students from inner city backgrounds and as one core component of a full twelve month programme, supports them through opportunities to volunteer within communities and environments in both a local and international context. One key element of the programme are “Community Acts” - activities that enrich the lives of another. In this instance it includes working alongside locals to provide clean water supplies and washing facilities to villages in the remote areas of Kwa Zulu Natal.
