Foster carers' helpline in Cheshire
JOB DONE:SCROLL DOWN THE PAGE TO 'SUCCESS STORY' TO FIND OUT MORE...When you’re looking after society’s most vulnerable children, the ‘end of the working day’ doesn’t apply. Problems frequently crop up in the evenings and at weekends – anything from challenging behaviour to legal, paperwork or insurance issues, but local authority social workers are employed on a nine to five, Monday to Friday basis. That’s why Cheshire Foster Care launched their Out Of Hours Helpline in 2009. We’re open when everyone else has gone home – from 5pm till 11pm in the week, and from 9am to 11pm through the weekends. We currently have 17 advisors on our rota, who are either foster carers themselves or social workers. We are tailored to offer very specific advice for the Cheshire region, but can also answer more general questions for anyone within the UK. £10 pays for one hour of the Out Of Hours Helpline, and all the staff, training, running costs and administration that the service needs.
You'll See The Difference...
Once we’ve raised enough for another 100 hours of the helpline (£1,000), Eric Mole, our Chairman, will write and let you know how many calls we’ve taken and who we’ve managed to help. With your support we've handled over 140 calls
Update: 14th September 2011 Dear Clare and Tamsin I wanted to personally thank you for your kind support of the Cheshire Foster Care Association out-of-hours helpline. To date we have handled over 140 calls and have proved an invaluable source of out-of-hours help for foster carers across Cheshire. Please click on the video above and I'll tell you more about how your money has made a difference. Thanks again for your support Eric Mole, Chair - Cheshire Foster Care Association
