Care for HIV patients in Africa
JOB DONE - AWAITING FEEDBACKCARE FOR HIV PATIENTS IN AFRICAHow do I do that?Despite its prevalence, stigma regarding HIV is still a huge barrier to identifying and supporting those with the disease in South Africa - by paying for a Community Worker you can provide practical and medical support to those in need. What does it cost? Each Community Worker costs just £30 per day and they support 40 families, which each have between two and six children. When will I see the difference?Beautiful Gate are now putting together the feedback to show you the difference your money has made so we'll be bringing you another 'success story' very soon!
Tell me more...Community Workers like Asive are invaluable for helping communities of Philippi and Crossroads look after themselves. They support those most in need by providing food and clothing parcels, arranging referrals to clinics for anti-viral therapy, giving counselling for those affected by HIV and offering care for the community children. They also provide practical aid with social grant applications and referrals to NGOs for skills training for those who are ready to make changes to their lives. There are just two Community Workers on the Family Preservation Programme. Each Community Worker works on a full-time basis, and the £30 per day covers their salary, and the telephones and travel they need to do this invaluable job. |
