BAAF
Here's how you can help right now
About the charity
The British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF) is a UK charity that helps find new loving families for children who cannot live safely with their birth families. There are 80,000 children in care in the UK today. They need safety, security and care - things which will help them to grow into caring and trusting young adults. These children need foster and adoptive families to look after them. Feeling loved, being cared for, feeling safe and secure matter to all children. To children in care, they matter even more. Every child matters to BAAF.
The majority of children who come into care have experienced abuse and neglect - experiences which can affect them over the long term. Many need specialist care and support in order to make sense of these experiences and to understand that they can be loved and cared for.
Since 1980, BAAF's innovative projects have helped find the right families for thousands of children in care. Our campaigns raise public awareness and we influence the media, the public and central and local governments throughout the UK. Our information, advice, publications and training have informed and developed the skills of thousands of childcare workers and adoptive and foster parents. Your support can help us to continue this work and find families for many children who need the care, affection and life chances that all children deserve. Every child deserves a family - with your support we will make an enormous difference to the lives of thousands of children.
