£2 pays for a member of staff to take a call to the Be My Parent line.

4,000 children need to be adopted in the UK every year. Thousands of people apply to be adoptive parents each year. Every one feels ready to give their support and guidance to a child that needs it. But it’s not just a case of throwing children and parents together. Every child is different – different ages, different needs and different backgrounds. They don’t just need a parent, they need the right one for them.

The BAAF Be My Parent team know which children are looking for families, the things that make them special, and the people that are caring for them whilst they wait. When a prospective parent calls the BAAF line, staff can guide them through the adoption process, whether it’s an initial call to find out about the idea of parenting, a way to see which children are waiting, or a specific call about an individual child.  The team are there to help start connections, and help children find the right families.
